More aggressive initial development of tauopathy has been reported in female rTg4510 mice, including increased expression of hyperphosphorylated tau at 5.5 M.84,85 As well as comparison to other tauopathy models, to validate the pathological basis of phenotypes observed in this study it will be important to confirm these generalize to equivalently staged tauopathy in female rTg4510 mice, likely at a younger age point. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is tauopathy.
