Our study also revealed that the serum Gal-3 levels were highly correlated with the serum IL-18 levels, which are presumed to be useful biomarkers for autoinflammatory diseases, such as AOSD, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and NLRC4 inflammasomopathies (21, 22). The gene discussed is NLRC4; the disease is systemic-onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
