Since Golgin45 was originally identified as a nuclear protein that is up-regulated during retinoid-induced maturation of NB4 promyelocytic leukemia (PML) and our results indicate that it appears to function as a stress response protein10,15,22, we wondered whether SUMOylated Golgin45 may directly interact with PML and participate in the PML nuclear body formation and its function in genome maintenance during cellular stress. The gene discussed is BLZF1; the disease is leukemia.
