PML and leukemia: Since Golgin45 was originally identified as a nuclear protein that is up-regulated during retinoid-induced maturation of NB4 promyelocytic leukemia (PML) and our results indicate that it appears to function as a stress response protein10,15,22, we wondered whether SUMOylated Golgin45 may directly interact with PML and participate in the PML nuclear body formation and its function in genome maintenance during cellular stress.
