As shown in Figure 3A and the right graph panel, we used two guide RNAs (CRISPR/Cas9) to knockout PRMT1 and PRMT5 in oral cancer cells (lung cancer cells, Supplementary Figure S2A), and only PRMT5 deletion reduced FXR1 levels but not FXR2 (which lacks the RGG domain), as previously described (16). The gene discussed is PRMT5; the disease is lung cancer.
