The asthmatic phenotype, in which HBEC were differentiated in the presence of IL-13, was characterized by histology and evaluated for biomarkers of cytotoxicity, barrier integrity, mucus production, cell differentiation, cilia development, type 2 inflammation and PAH metabolism in the presence and absence of BAP treatment compared to normal HBEC. Here, IL13 is linked to pulmonary arterial hypertension.
