Hepatic lipogenesis is regulated by well‐established transcription factors, which include Peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and CCAAT/enhancer‐binding protein family (C/EBP α, β), and changes in their expression have been linked to metabolic diseases, including obesity.[18] Gastrin‐releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), which has been shown to regulate food intake in response to leptin signaling, has been identified as a gene whose expression is also altered in familial obesity.[19] It has also been shown to be a target of CREB.[20]. The gene discussed is CREB1; the disease is obesity disorder.
