In this study, we found that lncRNA EPB41L4A-AS1 expression is downregulated in patients with AD, which inhibited the transcription of multiple autophagy-related genes by decreasing the expression level of histone acetyltransferase GCN5L2 and thus inhibiting the enrichment of histone acetylation, crotonylation, and lactylation near the TSSs of these genes, resulting in an inhibition of the autophagy-mediated Aβ clearance (Fig. 7i). This evidence concerns the gene KAT2A and Alzheimer disease.
