Remarkably, the ten genes that were identified with transcript levels most closely correlated with sepsis (NDUFA2, COX7C, UQCRH, UQCR11, NDUFB6, COX7B, NDUFA1, NDUFA4, COX7A2, and NDUFB3) are all encoding subunits of the mitochondrial respiratory chain enzyme complexes. Here, COX7A2 is linked to Sepsis.
