CST3 and Cirrhosis: Previous studies have focused on the importance of sarcopenia and the decrease in muscular function as a main feature of frailty syndrome in patients with cirrhosis.8,9 It is noteworthy that the increase in muscular function in the intervention group was not associated with an increase in muscle mass as assessed by anthropometry, creatinine/cystatin C ratio, electrical bioimpedance, and ultrasound evaluation of quadriceps thickness.
