The Naples prognostic score (NPS), based on albumin (Alb), total cholesterol (TC), NLR, and LMR, was used to predict the clinical outcomes in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC), gastric cancer, early-stage lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer.[9–12] In addition, the study by Kano et al[13] demonstrated that NPS was an independent prognostic factor in patients with locally advanced ESCC receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by the complete resection. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
