GPX4 and neoplasm: After understanding the relation between ferroptosis and radiotherapy, Liang and team developed a tumor microenvironment-responsive MOF having an amalgamation of Cu and Fe dual ions bridged using pegylated disulfide bond (FCP-MOF) applied as ferroptosis inducer that instigated ferroptosis by synergistic GPX4 inactivation and Fenton/Fenton-like reaction.
