ADAM12 and cancer: A member of the metalloproteinase family, ADAM12, is known for its oncogenic role in CRC by regulating TME by ECM degradation and processing various chemokines and cytokines that can activate immune cell infiltration.33 Reflecting these activities, the gene expression level of ADAM12 is strongly associated with poor patient survival and prognosis in various types of cancer, including colorectal, thyroid, lung, and pancreatic cancers33–36.
