INS and COVID-19: The cumulative number of comorbidities can influence the overall health status of the patient population including their response to stress as well as developing stress hyperglycemia which may require insulin therapy and having these patients more prone for glycemic variability, however both groups were comparable in terms of comorbidities at baseline. Within our study population, COVID-19 exhibits a substantial prevalence across the groups, with rates of 42.7% observed in the IIT group and 47.7% in the ISS group.
