Necroptosis is associated with various pathological changes, such as photoreceptor extinction [4], systemic inflammation [5], distal colitis [6], and acute pancreatitis [7], and the common signalling pathway involved in necroptosis is the receptor-interacting protein kinase-3 (RIPK3)–RIPK1–mixed lineage kinase domain-like (MLKL) protein pathway [8]. Here, MLKL is linked to acute pancreatitis.
