Many antifungal agents, such as miconazole, θ‐defensins, caspofungin and others, exert their effects through excessive ROS accumulation in fungal cells,23, 26, 39, 40, 41 and in Jurkat T cells and human multiple myeloma U266 cells, FN was reported to be able to stimulate the overproduction of intracellular ROS,42, 43 so we postulated that FN may also incur excessive ROS production in C. albicans. The gene discussed is FN1; the disease is AL amyloidosis.
