All genome-wide signals were located in known T2D-susceptibility loci except for one locus located on chromosome 11 (q22.3) within the Dynein, Cytoplasmic 2, Heavy chain 1 (DYNC2H1) gene, tagged by rs2510095, which reached genome-wide significance (P = 4.18 × 10− 8; Beta = 0.0299; effect allele = T; other allele = A) in the transethnic meta-analysis (Fig. 3B) with QBB cohort. Here, DYNC2H1 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
