Consistent with our previous report [14], we found that Treg-depleted infected animals showed reduced levels of blood parasitemia (Fig 2A) and tissue parasite burden in T. cruzi target tissues, such as heart and liver, compared to their control counterparts at day 20 pi (Fig 2B), which coincides with the peak of the CD8+ T cell response in our model [28,33]. Here, CD8A is linked to parasitic infectious disease.
