In addition, comparative gene expression profiles of multiple myeloma endothelial cells revealed three upregulated genes [Bcl2/adenovirus E1B 19-kDa interacting protein 3 (BNIP3), immediate early response 3 (IER3), and SELENOW] [25], which potentiate over-angiogenesis involved in the consistent progression of multiple myeloma. The gene discussed is BNIP3; the disease is AL amyloidosis.
