In this study, the rescue of decreased cell viability upon treatment with autophagy inhibitors, 3‐MA and HCQ, provides evidence for the involvement of autophagy in mediating the observed consequences of IGF2BP2 knockdown in glioma cells and implies that IGF2BP2's influence on glioma cell survival might be mediated through prevention of excessive autophagy. The gene discussed is IGF2BP2; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
