A clinical study collected CSF samples from 59 patients aged 60 and older who underwent spinal and general anesthesia for elective total hip replacement, both preoperative and postoperative neuropsychological tests, and used reliable change indexes for cognitive decline at 3 and 12 months; CSF Aβ42, total tau protein, phosphorylated tau protein and neurofilament light, and compared baseline levels of biomarkers in preoperative and postoperative CSF.
