At the time, we validated our preclinical findings by identifying an increased expression of TLR4 and high risk for cognitive impairment after SARS-CoV-2 infection on a cohort of patients with mild COVID-19 carrying the GG genotype of the TLR4-2604G > A (rs10759931) variant, when compared with the GA genotype. This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and COVID-19.
