According to the Carolina Breast Cancer Study (CBCS), survival outcomes for Luminal A-type breast cancer (ER/PR+, HER2−) were worse for African American women compared to Caucasian women, but interestingly, despite the higher prevalence of basal-type cancer in black women, the survival outcomes for basal-type were slightly worse in white women compared to black women. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
