Our data show that patients with RA and PsA who required more therapeutic efforts comprising the use of biologic therapy during follow-up had higher expressions of IL17A, TGFb1, and Dkk1 in the synovial tissue of inflamed knees compared to patients who did not require bDMARD treatment, as well as to patients with PsA and RA, and the control group (osteoarthritis and axial spondyloarthritis). This evidence concerns the gene DKK1 and osteoarthritis.
