While CYP2C19 has a minor role in NSAID metabolism, it has been associated with peptic ulcer disease, particularly with the CYP2C19*17 variant, adding complexity and heightening the risk of gastrointestinal side effects, especially in PM patients exposed to NSAIDs for postoperative pain management [58,59,60,61,62,63]. Here, CYP2C19 is linked to peptic ulcer disease.
