Seymour and co-workers [70] reported, in obesity-prone rats fed with an HFD, that the intake of tart cherries reduced retroperitoneal IL-6 and TNF-α mRNA expression, Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) activity, and plasma IL-6 and TNF-α concentrations. Here, NFKB1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
