Recent literatures have shown that AKR1B10 is lowly expressed in gastric cancer [11], colorectal cancer [27] and adrenocortical carcinoma [28] while highly expressed in breast cancer [10] and hepatocellular carcinoma [29], and modulates the biological events in cancers including proliferation, migration and invasion, suggesting that AKR1B10 may act as a novel biomarker for cancers. The gene discussed is AKR1B10; the disease is adrenal cortex carcinoma.
