CRP and Obesity: Patients with HTG-AP often have other complications, including metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and obesity, and those with type 2 diabetes mellitus have an elevated risk of developing AP compared with patients without diabetes.[21] Serum calcium, LDH and CRP levels, which were included factors in the final model, have been reported as risk factors for SAP in a number of previous studies.[22–25] It is worth noting that although several factors were not included in the model that was ultimately constructed, they were also valuable in assessing the severity of AP.
