IFNAR1 and infection: Further, we find that NLRP3-deficient, IFNAR-deficient mice are not protected from lethal DENV infection and succumb to infection at similar rates as NLRP3-sufficient IFNAR-deficient mice, thus suggesting that the NLRP3 inflammasome does not contribute to pathogenesis in the context of DENV infection, at least in our DENV D220 mouse model of vascular leak syndrome.
