To test the hypothesis that GOLIM4 is a protumorigenic effector of the 3q amplicon, we first quantified GOLIM4 levels in human lung cancer cell lines classified as 3q amplified or 3q diploid (15) and found that GOLIM4 mRNA and protein levels were higher in 3q-amplified cells (Figure 2, A–C). Here, GOLIM4 is linked to lung cancer.
