Although we demonstrated that activation of YAP1/WWTR1/TEAD-dependent transcription is a potent driver of resistance to osimertinib in EGFR mutant lung cancer, there is no evidence that genes involved in the regulation of this pathway (such as NF2, LATS1/2, WWTR1, and YAP1) are commonly found as acquired resistance genes in patients who develop drug resistance. The gene discussed is WWTR1; the disease is lung cancer.
