Gateva et al., showed lower adiponectin levels in patients with prediabetes comparedwith those without prediabetes, and Stojanović et al., indicated that decreasing thelevel of adiponectin was strongly implicated in the development of insulinresistance and may be a useful marker for coronary artery disease, metabolicsyndrome, and prediabetes14,15.
