To evaluate the response of human microglia to amyloid-β plaques upon knockdown of APOE and TREM2, we assessed microglia accumulation around amyloid-β plaques and the phenotypic transition to DAM by measuring the intensity of hCD9, marker of DAM signature, around plaques in xenotransplanted AD mouse brains at 1 and 4 weeks after ASOs injection. The gene discussed is APOE; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
