In Thai population, HLA-B*58:01 has been significantly associated with allopurinol-induced severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions (SCARs), i.e., SJS/TEN (odds ratio (OR) of 348.30; 95% confidence interval (CI) 19–6336; P = 1.6 × 10− 13) [2] and it has also been significantly associated with cADRs (OR 696.00; 95% CI 74–6475; P < 0.01) [5]. Here, HLA-B is linked to toxic epidermal necrolysis.
