For confirmation, HCC cells were transfected with siRNA targeting SLC7A11, which showed that silencing of SLC7A11 (Figure 6A) significantly increased the proportion of dead HCC cells and lipid peroxidation as compared to the ATF4‐OE + DHA group (Figure 6B–E), indicating that silencing of SLC7A11 reversed the rescue effect of ATF4 overexpression against DHA‐induced ferroptosis of HCC cells. This evidence concerns the gene ATF4 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
