Given the substantial variation in susceptibility to MicG among the tested D. dentifera (from 0 to 100% infection prevalence) and D. longispina (0 to 90%) clones and the broad range of host species of this microsporidium, it seems plausible that alleles involved in susceptibility to MicG could be conserved across host species, as in the case of P. ramosa. This evidence concerns the gene MICG and infection.
