Further studies in HCC showed that sorafenib-resistant cells increased miR-23a-3p transcription in an ETS Proto-Oncogene 1 (ETS1)-dependent manner, and targeting the key positive regulator of ferroptosis, acyl-CoA synthetase long chain family member 4 (ACSL4), has been shown to overcome sorafenib resistance. Here, ACSL4 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
