In addition, we found that the expression of MMP-1 in HSF after EPS incubation was inhibited and the corresponding enzyme activity was significantly reduced, while the expression level of Type I procollagen and extracellular COL-I content were significantly up-regulated, all of which resulted in the optimal effects of EPS at 500 μg/mL, effectively alleviating skin aging caused by the degradation of the extracellular matrix due to UVA irradiation.
