The novel 8-gene signature we identified consisted of CDK1, AP1S1, CASP3, MAP1LC3A, SNCA, TMPRSS6, MAPT, and GSK3B. Although these genes are known for their important roles in various malignancies and are associated with poor survival (Guven et al. 2021; Huang et al. 2011; Liu et al. 2022a; Mete et al. 2020; Sofi et al. 2022; Zheng et al. 2022; Zhou et al. 2022), this is the first paper indicating their connection with the dysregulation of copper levels in cancer patients. This evidence concerns the gene CASP3 and cancer.
