IGHE and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Jamieson et al found that 25% to 30% of COPD patients manifest an allergic phenotype.[6] Moreover, another study that investigated T-IgE as an allergy biomarker showed that 47.3% of COPD patients had elevated serum levels of total IgE.[10] A recently published META analysis showed that about one-third of COPD patients have allergic symptoms.[13] Nevertheless, in our present work, we have focused on the T-IgE in AECOPD patients.
