ABL1 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive: CML and APL are caused by a single canonical mutation shared by all affected persons: the breakpoint cluster region–Abelson tyrosine protein kinase-1 (BCR::ABL1) and the promyelocytic leukaemia protein–retinoic acid receptor alpha (PML::RARA) fusion genes, respectively.
