Familial aneurysms (FAA) occurred in more patients with a FURIN variant than would be expected (FAA in 16 (55%) patients with a FURIN variant, compared to the expected ∼20% of FAA in abdominal—or thoracic aneurysm cases), endorsing that FURIN variants may increase familial susceptibility to aneurysms (Table 2 and Supplementary material online, Table S1). This evidence concerns the gene FURIN and aneurysm.
