Compared to those with known diabetes type at diagnosis, children with unknown diabetes type were older (p < 0.001), less likely to be positive for GAD-65 or IA-2 autoantibodies (both p < 0.001), and had higher median BMI percentile (p < 0.001) and random C-peptide level (p < 0.001) (Table 1).
