BRAF and thyroid gland carcinoma: Tumors originating from thyroid follicular cells are the most common type of thyroid carcinoma and are classified into BRAF-like malignancies, represented by papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs) with many morphological subtypes, and RAS-like malignancies, represented by invasive encapsulated follicular variant PTC and follicular thyroid carcinoma (1).
