Treatment of streptozotocin-induced animal model of diabetes with safranal (0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 mg/kg/day, IP for 4 weeks) reduced MDA, NO, and glutathione (GSH) contents but increased the activities of SOD and CAT in the BALF and lung tissue of diabetic rats (28).
