A few studies examined the associations between cognitive function and AD/ADRD with inflammatory markers (assessed using serum CRP, fibrinogen, interleukin-6 (IL-6), and homocysteine), D-dimer (a marker of fibrinolysis), factor VIII (related to arterial thrombosis) (Carcaillon et al., 2009; Yan et al., 2010; Rubio-Perez and Morillas-Ruiz, 2012; Simon et al., 2018; Lauriola et al., 2021), and the albumin-to- creatinine ratio (a marker of kidney function) (Bikbov et al., 2022). Here, IL6 is linked to Arterial thrombosis.
