Van Zanden et al. demonstrated that an intermediate dose of 12.5 mg/kg of methylprednisolone intravenously is the ideal treatment dose for BD-induced lung inflammation in rats, in addition to reducing the pro-inflammatory state by reducing of tissue levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β, and promote a protective response through the expression of IL-10. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is Behcet disease.
