Further characterization of the collagen content of IgG control and anti-TIMP1 treated, UTI-bearing mice with confocal SHG  confirmed the reduction in collagen deposition upon anti-TIMP1 treatment, and indicated  that TIMP1 neutralization was sufficient to prevent altered  collagen alignment observed in the mammary tissue from UTI-bearing mice (Fig.5G–I). Here, TIMP1 is linked to bacterial urinary tract infection.
