Together with our previous research [18, 19], this study demonstrates that Viperin is a negative regulator of anti-tuberculosis immune response for host defense especially in APCs cells, including macrophages and DCs, proposes the potential of the combination of Viperin deficiency and first-line anti-TB drug, thus provides a novel host-directed therapy (HDT) for the treatment of TB. This evidence concerns the gene RSAD2 and tuberculosis.
