Consistent with our results that blockade of APC-NKT cell activation via systemic administration of anti-CD1d monoclonal antibodies is immunomodulatory, previous studies have shown that this approach prevented the injury-induced suppression of delayed hypersensitivity [44], accelerates wound closure [45], and that CD1d-specific single-domain antibodies can be used therapeutically in cancer and inflammatory disorders [46]. The gene discussed is CD1D; the disease is cancer.
