These significant factors include higher risk among those with obesity (n = 18,456, OR 1.75 (1.19–2.59), I2 97.7%), neuropathy (n = 3898, OR 2.01 (1.60–2.54), I2 44.5%), diabetes complications (n = 1769, OR 1.90 (1.53–2.36), I2 39.3%), and peripheral blood concentrations of CRP (n = 1742, SMD 0.31 (0.16–0.45), I2 84.1%), all of which provide suggestive evidence of higher risk at the class III level. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
